DELE stands for Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language. It's an official diploma that shows your knowledge of Spanish. This diploma of Proficiency in Spanish has a lot of prestige and is recognized all over the world.

To obtain it and test your level, you must take an exam that will evaluate all your Spanish skills:

  • reading comprehension,
  • listening comprehension,
  • written expression and interaction
  • and oral expression and interaction.

You can take 6 exams, each at a different level, but you will only get the diploma if you pass it (if you have the APT):

Initial Level:
  • DELEΒ A1
  • DELE A2
Intermediate Level:
  • DELE B1
  • DELE B2
Advanced Level:
  • DELE C1
  • DELE C2

Everyone can take the DELE exam, although it is recommended to do so from the age of 16 because the subjects are aimed at adults.

There are diplomas of DELE School, for children under 17, but they only offer exams up to level B1:

  • DELE A1 school exam.
  • DELE A2/B1 school exam (a single exam where you can take one of the levels).
