How the test works

1. Start with your email. When you start, you subscribe free of charge to the A por el DELE newsletter, with resources and exam-session alerts; you can unsubscribe whenever you want.

2. Answer yes or no. The statements are of the type «Puedo escribir cartas personales que describen experiencias e impresiones», taken from the official CEFR (Common European Framework) descriptors. They go from easier to harder and cover five skills: writing, spoken production, spoken interaction, reading and listening.

3. Instant result. When you finish, you will see your estimated overall level (A1 to C2) and the breakdown by skill. No waiting and no payment.

About 5 minutes. It is a maximum of 30 yes-or-no questions, and the test adapts: if a level is beyond you, it moves straight on to the next skill.

Is this an official exam?

No. It is an indicative self-assessment based on the CEFR descriptors — the same framework the Instituto Cervantes DELE exams are built on. To certify your level you need an official qualification such as the DELE.
