Why do the DELE? Maybe you're thinking about it. Therefore, I want to share with you the most common reasons why my students prepare for this exam:

  1. It is a requirement (depending on each case) to apply for Spanish nationality and prove integration into the country. At least you must have the APT in the DELE A2 but you can also do higher levels.
  2. If you want to have a public job in Spain (to be a civil servant) you must obtain the APT in the DELE (it depends on the position, but DELE B2 or C1 is usually requested).
  3. Many students want to study in Spain and having the DELE is a requirement to access degrees and master's degrees. They also usually ask for scholarships to apply for study grants.
  4. Many people need the pressure of the exam to take learning Spanish seriously, and the DELE helps them to practice all skills equally: reading and listening comprehension and written and oral expression. It's impossible to prepare for the DELE and not improve!
  5. Knowing languages is a skill that is increasingly being taken into account when hiring new employees or promoting existing employees. The Spanish-speaking market is huge and accrediting the DELE will open many doors for you in the professional environment.
