How to prepare for the DELE A2 exam
This is where the difference between “studying Spanish” and “studying the exam” becomes very clear.
First, you need to know the format and train it exactly as it is: real tasks, real timing, and the same type of correction you’ll face in the exam.
In reading, your goal is to locate information without translating word by word.
In listening, you train catching the general idea and key details without blocking if you miss a sentence.
In writing, you learn to follow every instruction and write with simple, clear and correct structures.
In speaking, you practise a fixed structure so you don’t improvise under stress, and you keep a natural interaction with the examiner.
One tip that truly changes how you feel: don’t try to cover everything at once. It’s better to master the essentials and repeat them consistently. That gives you confidence and control.
How is the DELE A2 exam graded?
Each test is scored, and you can’t simply compensate one part with another. The result is calculated by blocks:
Block 1: reading + writing.
Block 2: listening + speaking.
To get APTO, you must reach the minimum score in each block.
When is the DELE A2 exam?
DELE A2 has several exam sessions each year. Exact dates change, so the key is to always check the official calendar and register early, because there are registration deadlines.
Where is the DELE A2 exam taken?
You take it at an authorised exam centre. You can do it in Spain or in your country, depending on available centres. The usual process is: find the closest centre, check which sessions are available, and register through that centre.
