In the DELE exams B2, C1 and C2, there is one task in the Reading Test that usually costs more work than the others. It's good news to know that it's not the task that's worth the most points. Also, you should know that you can leave it until the end, so that it doesn't take up time to do the other tasks calmly.
In this post I'm going to give you tips and strategies so that you can do this task a little better and with fewer failures.
First recommendation
Before reading the text that has the gaps, analyze quite well, in depth, the fragments they give you.
Second recommendation
You have to identify who is the subject of those fragments. Underline it. This will make the process of finding the hole for that fragment much easier.
Third recommendation
You have to see if the fragment has any clues that can make you connect it to the text. Identify and mark them.
These clues can be orthographic or punctuation, discursive markers and grammar: pronouns (both personal pronouns, object pronouns, possessive pronouns, determinants... - because pronouns refer to something that comes before, that is, that has already been named).
Fourth recommendation
Take a good look at what each fragment is saying and write down a short summary next to each fragment - extract the topic because it will help you know what moment to put it in the text in question.
Fifth recommendation
Once you've worked through the fragments well, then move on to reading text.
It's not going to be enough to read what comes before the gap, you also have to read what comes right after the gap.
