For Task 1 of Test 3 of the DELE C2 Spanish exam you must do a monologue, that is, a presentation on a certain topic, for which you can choose between two options in the preparation room, where you will have 40 minutes to prepare the assignment.

Once you choose the topic, you will find some instructions, some guidelines to follow and also some materials, which are usually two short texts and two graphics, or a single graphic and three texts.

To advance what you should do and what is expected of you, I will share with you a model of the DELE C2 exam to accompany this explanation that you can download by clicking here https://airtable.com/shrouADAG7JW8PhZn

For this task, they will usually give you four or five instructions to contextualize the situation or problem that you will have to talk about, which are generally current issues and in some controversy, that is, with a positive side and a negative side.

You are probably not an expert in the subject you receive, but don't worry, because what is expected of you is that you take the information, process it and be able to speak in a sustained and uninterrupted manner for between 6 and 8 minutes, presenting the topic in your own words, since the DELE is a language exam and does not seek to measure your knowledge of general culture.

However, for the DELE C2 level, it is important that you have the necessary vocabulary to be able to expand on a topic, even if you are not a specialist in it.

As you make your presentation, the examiner will listen to you and won't interrupt you, unless you get stuck or go blank. In that case, it will help you get back on track with your monologue, possibly with a question.

But without a doubt, the most important thing for this task is that you can focus and respond to the three or four guidelines that you will receive at the beginning, taking advantage of the content included in the materials.

You can use information from more than one text or even one of the graphics, in order to cover these guidelines that will ask you to do your monologue. Forgetting any of the guidelines will cause you to lose points on the exam.

In other words, it is not a matter of promptly analyzing each text or graphic individually, but rather of making a monologue with an INTRODUCTION, a DEVELOPMENT including discursive markers and a CONCLUSION, using ALL materials to respond to ALL guidelines.

Remember that before entering the exam room you will have 30 minutes in the preparation room, where you can thoroughly analyze these guidelines and materials. You can also prepare an outline with the main topics that you can take with you to the exam room for help.

My advice in this case is that you take the guidelines, read each of the materials well and take note of the most important information included in them based on what has been requested of you in the guidelines.

Finally, to score points in your exam, it is important that you use discursive markers, collocations and idioms in your monologue. All of this will raise your DELE C2 Oral Test score.
