We read to have a good time, to enjoy a book, the author's language and style, exquisite metaphors, epithets or other stylistic resources, right?
But reading the exam is another song and here are some guidelines, clues, life-hacks, whatever you want to say, to be able to read faster and more effectively on the day of the DELE exam to achieve the desired points:
1. Cronometrate
Time is precious and, in order for you to read with the necessary peace of mind, it is necessary to control the reading time of each text (to ensure that you distribute it well and that you reach everything).
2. Read the questions and answer options first
To make it easier to read the article or statements, you should know what you are asked to find in the texts, so I recommend that you take a look at the questions and answers before starting to work with the text.
3. Highlight key words in the questions and answers
In order not to waste time reading the entire article or all the short statements, highlight the words that differ from one answer to the other and that may appear in the text like this or be replaced by a synonym with an almost or totally similar meaning.
4. The answers for Task 1 (DELE B1 and B2) are found in consecutive paragraphs
Read the first question, mark the words and go to the first paragraph to find the desired answer there. This way you won't have to read all the text and you'll save time. Do the same with the rest of the questions.
5. Be careful when marking answers on the Answer Sheet
With that matter, don't be in a hurry, because a mistake made accidentally out of distraction can cost you points and points.
And one more tip: expand your vocabulary, especially study by grouping words into lexical fields. You can use books such as Using Level B2-C2 Vocabulary to learn more about the terrain ☺
With a lot of love, I wish you luck,
